|Johnny & The Midnight Trio, A Note from the South
Hi there, we're Johnny & The Midnight Trio, a four piece band hailing from the Deep South (that's Hampshire/Dorset, not Louisiana!) and we play authentic 50s rock 'n' roll and rockabilly music.
Now here's our line up:
Laying down some fine lead vocals & rhytm guitar is Johnny from Bournemouth. Gordon, who hails from Alton, provides that real gone crazy lead guitar. He also does some lead & backing vocals and plays lap steel on some songs. Connie, who comes from Portsmouth, supplies us with that thunderous slap bass. She also does backing vocals. And last of all, beating out the rhythm on the skins is Darren from Farnborough.
On our 5-track promo CD, there is something for everyone, jivers, strollers and boppers are all catered for. We play 50s rockabilly & rock 'n' roll, there are a few classics too. DJ Wildcat Pete's favourite is "Lightning Cross The Sky". We also write our own material, as we know how much you crazy cats 'n' kittens wanna hear something new!
Tracks on the promo disk:
1. Look At That Moon (classic Sun track from Carl Perkins)
2. Tell Me Please (Solid jiver written by Johnny)
3. Lightning Cross The Sky (classic jiver from Groovey Joe Poovey)
4. She Used To Be Mine (moody stroller written by Darren)
5. Just Thought I'd Set You Straight (great rocker from Ted Harris)
We are playing at Hemsby 36 this May 6th, 2006 in the Queen Vic Pub. Contact us for more information and bookings.
